Warm summers and mild winters with little snow characterize central Vancouver Island’s temperate rainforest climate. Considerably milder than the mainland, Vancouver Island boasts the mildest climate in Canada. The summer average temperature around Qualicum Beach is 22 degrees Celsius and the winter average temperature is 8 degrees Celsius. The west coast of Vancouver Island receives over 2,500 millimetres of perception annually, but the east coast gets less than 1,000 millimetres.
