Vancouver Island Ferry Services:

If you are travelling with your vehicle BC Ferries is the only way to travel to Vancouver island. A leisurly ferry ride between the Lower Mainland and the Island allow visitors to experience the spectacular scenery and wildlife of the west coats. It is not uncommon to see whales during the approximate 1 and a half hour crossing.

Driving Directions:

Once off the ferry, follow Highway 19 North from Nanaimo and travel approximately 40 minutes to the Qualicum Beach Exit. Upon booking you will be given detailed directions to McAllister House.

By Air

KD Air flies five times daily from the South Terminal at Vancouver Airport direct to Qualicum Beach. Taxis are available upon arrival for transportation to McAllister House.

If you are traveling light, in a short 20 minutes Harbour Air will fly you in a Sea Plane from downtown Vancouver to downtown Nanaimo. A Shuttle Bus service is available to Qualicum.

Alternatively, fly Baxter Air between downtown Nanaimo and either downtown Vancouver or the S. Terminal at Vancouver Airport.

Other options for getting to the mid-Island include train service with VIA Rail, Laidlaw Coach lines and BC Transit.
